Skin care product ingredient science has evolved dramatically in the past decade. There has been an emergence of products that could heal, nourish and improve the skin’s appearance like never before. However, due to our skin’s waterproof barrier, these products were not achieving optimal results.
Enter Nanotechnology. In simplest terms, nanotechnology means something extremely small. The Rezenerate wand uses individual, single-use tips fitted with tiny pyramid-like nano-structures to upgrade the regular facial, by allowing treatment serums increased penetration and thus reach maximum efficacy.
The Rezenerate modality uses a three phase process that is designed to condition the outer layer of skin.
Phase One: Vibratory Facial Massage
The gentle vibrations from the wand lead to increased blood circulation, which stimulates skin and encourages oxygenation, producing a complexion with a healthy, natural glow. This micro-massage is also beneficial for tension relief and provides an instant plumping and reduction of fine lines.
Phase Two: Product Infusion
The Rezenerate painlessly creates hundreds of thousands of superficial microscopic permeations on the surface of the skin leading to greater absorption of the nutrients introduced into the skin during the treatment. Average industry absorption rates for products typically fall between 2% and 10%. During the Rezenerate NanoFacial, your skin becomes like a “sponge” and serums are absorbed better than ever before. With this wand, we can increase absorption to upwards of 40% to 50%, thereby optimizing the nutrient benefits of chosen products. This makes the treatment fully customizable and great for all skin concerns.
Phase Three: Accelerated Exfoliation
This treatment also enhances the natural process of the skin’s cell turnover, for a younger and healthier-acting complexion.
What should I expect?
This relaxing treatment begins with a thorough cleansing. Then, the Rezenerate wand is gently moved across the face in small sections to help treatment serums penetrate deeply into the skin. The facial finishes with a cooling mask to calm the skin, and an SPF moisturizer to protect it from sun damage.
There is no downtime with this treatment. Some experience a slight redness, tightness, sensitivity, or tingling for a few hours after, depending on the condition of the skin and the treatment serums used. Your esthetician will complete a full consult with you first to ensure your skin is healthy enough to do the treatment. Some slight peeling or flaking may occur a few days after your facial due to the exfoliation nature of the procedure.
This treatment is contraindicated for those with active inflammatory conditions, immuno-suppression, severe rosacea, scleroderma, psoriasis, warts or open sores, scars, and undiagnosed lesions or skin infections. This treatment is not recommended for women that are pregnant or nursing.
The use of topical acids, retinols, benzoyl peroxide, or anything that can sensitize skin should be discontinued 24-48 hours prior to the service to avoid irritation. In addition, facial waxing should not be performed within 7 days of the treatment.
Results will vary between individuals dependent on age, skin condition, and lifestyle. Changes may be seen after the first facial, however, a series of Rezenerate treatments is most likely required to obtain the desired outcome. It is recommended that for improvements on specific skin conditions (acne scarring, hyperpigmentation, etc.) a treatment be performed bi-monthly. For regular skin care maintenance, monthly treatments are optimal for incredible results and long term benefits.
